not sure
but of all the sailboat rescues I have read about, none of them had the boat recovered by the coast guard. If it is recovered at all...it is always by salvage companies or by friendly boats just trying to help

I thought they are bringing in airplanes, helicopters, and a little boat..
If that is the case, why would they spend more money calling out a tug?

Stupid question but do they have to pay for being rescued ?

If they bring them to SD, I'd be in the area.
Any chance you would take a trip to represent for the Xerq community? Not sure what he would need or what we could do for him.

Faceman has been preparing to cross the Pacific on his sailboat for a long time. He is a licensed USCG Captain and knows what he is doing. He spent the last few years cruising in Mexico with his family living on the boat. They had another kid while they were there.
Two weeks ago they set sail to make the crossing. According to his blog everything was going fine up to day 12.

If they take them to SD, absolutely, without question.

Good to know, thank you. I was just thinking, adding to a shit situation with being somewhere with no support system would be awful.
