Taking out a 401(k) loan to go on a vacation

I have $15k cash in bank but I am taking a $10k loan from my 401(k)
Going on vacation in a yacht.

I am borrowing money from myself and I will be paying myself 6% interest.

I too hate banks. But i'm anal about keeping cash on me and/or hidden.

is this a troll thread? its NEVER a good idea to take a loan against your 401k for pleasure.

That 6% you are paying back is just refilling the hole. in the meantime that $$$ you borrowed isnt earning interest for you. Your 401k wont grow a dime until that loan is repaid.

I wish. We stay for free each time now. so my budget on food/clothes/gambling is $1000 if i reach/lose it i can live with it. On one of my trips i lost $800 on Texas hold 'em in one day ... i made back $600 playing craps though, i almost cried.
